Google Scribe.
A couple of days back, Google launched its text completion utility Google Scribe. It offers related word or phrase completion suggestions as you type on. Internally Google uses information what you have typed before in any document. This new feature works surprisingly well.
For example, type can I have a cup and Google Scribe suggests several phrases. I really intended for the third one among those suggestions! Just press “3” to complete the sentence. You don’t need to type the remaining 9 characters.
The feature is available only in English now. But, we can hope Google to add several other languages soon. There are three options available for the suggestion mode. Select “On demand” to have suggestions only when you required. Just press “tab” to see the suggestions.
A nice bookmarklet is available there.
Just drag it and drop onto the bookmark bar of your browser.
Enjoy this auto completion facility in Gmail, Blogger or on any web page having text fields with the help of this bookmarklet. Click it to activate the feature.
Now, a useful Google Chrome extension for Google Scribe is available too. This extension enables Google Scribe in all web pages. Press Ctrl+J to activate auto complete. Note that, the shortcut will only work when the cursor is inside any text field.
